WOW!!
This weekend was a great success for the clean-up efforts around the town. From all the clean up efforts put forth, to the electronics that were recycled with CRTR it demonstrated that the town can pull together for a good cause. SAGE appreciates all your efforts and would love to hear your comments and share your pictures. Please leave a comment below with your experience and the trash / recycling that your team did. If you have any pictures please sent them to

Is this the correct way to send in the before and after pics from this weekend?
If so I have attached a few of mine.
The location is 210 North Ave (the alleyway and empty lot). Between Morell's country kitchen and Mike and Dave's barber Shop. I collected around 12 contractor size trash bags (42 gallon i think) worth of debris.
This was a good idea and fun.
Look forward to the next time.
John Najarian.

Sunday: 12 bags compost delivered, 3 dz compost bags delivered to people on exstrom circle and bank & orange streets.
Take care, best regards, ellie
We owe a special THANK YOU to:
Anne Boyle's Girl Scout Troop #80489, also Anne, her husband and sons for all their hard and I mean hard work on Saturday.
These girls worked from 9 until noon tiredlessly!!! They went non-stop!!!! They had the help of 7 Seniors and I mean seniors -- some of whom are in their late 80's and we couldn't stop them either! I felt bad I had to leave a noon because 1 couple in particular wouldn't stop but "man, oh man" does it look good.
We worked a little out around the picnic tables -- but the poison ivy on that side is something to be taken care of another day! by a professional!!!
Take a ride up there and look on the railroad track side of the building at the lawn, parking lot and gardens around the building! Also the "Cook Family were there starting on their gardens -- shaping them up and looking good!
Also, how about the raised garden beds built by 2 - 13 yr. olds with the help of 1 Dad who oversaw and made sure they remained safe!! with the nails and hammers, etc. They have asked their names be withheld, for right now, but we will get them to fess up shortly! A little hint -- their Grandparents were helping on Saturday -- We ran into a little problem on Sat. with a delivery -- but we are getting that straight this week to get those gardens planted for the Seniors to enjoy and pick when ready. We are looking at basil, oregano, sage, parsley, borage (to rid tomatoe worms), cucumber, tomatoes, lettuces, spinach, string beans and some flowers so the Victory Garden can be entered into the Historical Commission contest.
I hope I haven't forgotten anyone -- I so appreciate your effort and your work and the time you gave up to help us keep the Center looking great for everyone to come and enjoy. Lurane Ryerson, S.A.G.E.
Thank you Dan, Marilyn and everyone on the SAGE committee not only for the help at the Senior Center, but also for organizing and spurring on the cleanup for Abington Earth Day for our whole town!!

At the end of a long day, we had hauled away 58 lawn/leaf bags, 3 trucks full of branches and brush, and a few bags of garbage.
We had about 30 helpers during the day.
Fun was had by all!
Attached is a picture of the cleaned up stage area. Unfortunately, I arrived after cleanup began, so I don't have a before picture.
